Why CPR Training?
Founder Jeff Vallimont has worked in public safety for over 32 years. As a teenage volunteer firefighter, a 24-year career firefighter, and currently as a safety manager for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington, Jeff has witnessed firsthand the life-saving effect of CPR in emergency situations. Jeff felt a calling to teach CPR to his community on a large-scale, and is now pursuing this call following the medical emergency of family friend Steven Smith.
How important is CPR? The Smith family gives testimony...
Steven Smith, a close family friend of Florian CPR's founder, experienced a life-threatening emergency in July 2016. Steven was hit in the chest with a baseball at practice on July 14. His heart stopped, and he immediately collapsed. A teammate was able to perform CPR until first responders arrived. After a medevac flight to a trauma hospital, a few days under sedation and medically-induced paralysis, Steven was released in wonderful health. First responders and doctors praised the CPR that Steven immediately received at the scene as a contributing factor to his full recovery.
